Set up your panel

You need a phone and your Wi-Fi password. It takes a few minutes.

1. Plug it in

Plug in the panel. After a few seconds it shows SETUP and a QR code.

2. Set it up in the Game Day app

Open the Game Day app on your iPhone. It finds the panel over Bluetooth, asks which Wi-Fi network the panel should join and the password, then lets you pick your team.

The app is coming soon to the App Store.

Without the app: use the panel's hotspot

While it shows SETUP, the panel also starts its own Wi-Fi network named Game Day plus six letters and numbers, like Game Day 2f6a70, and the screen shows the name. Join it from any phone or laptop and a setup page opens. Pick your Wi-Fi network, enter the password and save.

Once it's on your Wi-Fi, the panel shows its address, like gameday-2f6a70.local. Open that in a browser and pick your team. If your phone won't open a .local address, hold the button on the controller for 1.5 seconds and the panel shows the number version too.

Use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

The panel only joins 2.4 GHz networks. If your router has separate names for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, pick the 2.4 GHz one. Use your main network, not a guest network: a guest network can keep your phone from reaching the panel afterwards.

New router or Wi-Fi password?

The panel says Wi-Fi lost. Open the Game Day app and give it the new network or password the same way as the first time. Without the app, join the panel's Game Day hotspot as above. It comes up within a few minutes of the panel losing Wi-Fi.

Reinstalling the firmware

You don't need this to set up a panel. The installer page reinstalls the firmware from a desktop browser over USB and erases the panel's settings. Use it to bring back a panel that won't start, or to build your own.
